I think there is one other out on the market but I have serious reservations about Open Source applications.

The problem as I see it is these systems will requrie a more technical staff to maintain and modify the software. The trend for HR departments has been that they are looking for easier technology. That is likely not the case with open source applications.

I spoke one contact who downloaded Orange Open Source and he said when he got the software he was surprised it did not contain any features for US based goverment compliance. He spoke with the company about adding these options and the price for doing so was as much as it was going to cost him to buy an actual system. He ended up dumping Orange and went with one of our vendors.

It's an interesting concept but it does not appear to be getting any traffic as of yet.

So do you know of any good open source HRIS system? It's surprising that finding a good open source system is so hard - I could only spot OrangeHRM.
